Well it's that time of the year again.
Ten Best List Season.
I have not compiled a list yet because I haven't seen that many films.
But I am starting to catch up.
Below is a list of films that will, more than likely, be on my top ten list.
For now though, it is in no particular order.
3:10 to Yuma
I Am Legend
Gone Baby Gone
In the Valley of Elah
The Bourne Ultimatum
The Lookout
Hot Fuzz
Knocked Up
Superbad
Blade Runner: The Final Cut
Grindhouse - Theatrical Version
300

Short list, ain't it?
I know what you're thinking, "How can you call yourself the Film Geek and not have seen 'There Will Be Blood' or 'No Country for Old Men?'"
Well, I am about to go see them this week.
So :P
148
But the films you WILL NOT SEE on my ten best list are:
Pirates of the Caribbean 3: At World's End
I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry
Evan Almighty
Halloween 2007
Shrek 3

Shrek 3
And the Award for the Biggest Piece of Crap of the Year goes to...
SPIDERMAN 3
Yes, after making one of the best (if not the best) comic book films of all time, Sam Rami and company released the worst film of the year.
"The worst film, really?" you ask.
"Fuckin' A!!!" I answer.
"Well, why is it the worst film?" you inquire.
"Because when you have a protagonist that cries every ten minutes in an action film, the viewer begins to see that protagonist as a whiny bitch" I answer.
That and the fact that it had way too much going on in a story that was made very simplistic, if that makes any sense to you.
Also, you can go anywhere on line and read why Sam Rami completely hates the character of Venom and only included him to appease comic book fans of the character, not because he wanted him in the film.
In the end, Spiderman 3 had all the tools, talent, and chances to be one of, if not the best, film of the year and failed to live up to it's potential.
That is why it is the Biggest Piece of Crap of the Year, 2007.
