Welcome

This is one of my venues for therapy. I live too much in my head so I have strong feelings about everything and nothing. So this is my venting place.

Hope you find it entertaining.

TPIR Bitch Move

When did The Price Is Right become all about the "Bitch Move?"

For those of you not in the know, the "bitch move" is bidding $1.00 more than the person with the highest bid. You do this to cut them off from getting on stage so you can.

Now, there are variations on the Bitch Move.

It doesn't have to be the person with the highest bid. It can be the person with the second highest bid. You do this second tier Bitch Move when you think someone has over bid the item in Contestant's Row. So, you still screw someone to get on stage but you don't risk going over.

Recently, in January 2014, some one bid a $1.00 because they felt the previous two bidders priced the item too high. After the cheers from the audience because of the $1.00 bid, the last bidder in Contestant's Row bid $3.00 or $4.00 dollars. Basically, they told the person that bid $1.00 "FUCK YOU!"

Now, I am sure there is some parallel to be drawn between the economy, the dwindling Middle Class and the One Percent but, as I am not prepared for that discussion, I am going to lay it on the door step of manners.

The Bitch Move used to happen pretty rarely. Now, it happens at least once per show. When it was a rare event, it was a bit cute, like, "awww... they're nervous and don't know what to bid." Though it was still a Bitch Move.

Yet, as time has gone on, the Bitch Move has become common practice. And the people that do the Bitch Move give a half-hearted "sorry" to the person they screwed as they head toward the stage. Hell, even most people don't do that any more.

Ahhh... I have no idea where I'm going with this and I have better things to do them lament on the Bitch Move of shitty contestants on The Price Is Right.
