Welcome

This is one of my venues for therapy. I live too much in my head so I have strong feelings about everything and nothing. So this is my venting place.

Hope you find it entertaining.

On Friday afternoon I got a voicemail from my sister.

She needed to go to the emergency room.

So, when I got home from school we went.

After we got there, and she was taken into triage, I sat waiting for our mother to arrive.

Five minutes later, she did.

My sister went straight from triage into the examining area.

The waiting had begun.

Soon, my mother wanted a coffee.

I suggested I should go to Dunkin' Doughnuts for her.

After I was given the transcript of the Nuremburg trials (in the form of a coffee order) I was off.

The DD is two streets away from the entrance of the emergency room doors.

While walking up to the first light, which is red for me, I look to my right to see if I can J-Walk. I decide against it because of the speeding Fast and the Furious type car flying towards me. So, I back up (in case something happens and I need to duck behind the car parked directly to my right).

And that's when I notice this female orderly.

She is walking straight towards me, from the opposite side of the red light.

And she is not stopping for the light.

I look to my right again to see if the FatF car had decided to park.

It didn't.

As the Orderly steps off the curb into the street, the FatF car enters my peripheral vision and she doesn't see it.

That's when my right arm bends at the elbow and my right hand raises in a stop gesture as the words "Jesus" (almost to myself, in disbelief), STOP! (to the world)" come out of me.

The Orderly stops dead in her tracks as the FatF car rockets past her.

Stunned the Orderly says "thank you" as we pass in the crosswalk.

Shocked myself, I cannot even speak.

But I did notice that the light was still red when we crossed.
